Q.1 What is MCI eligibility certificate and how do any students get eligibility from MCI?
Ans. If any student wants to study MBBS in abroad and want to practice in India a student must get a certificate of eligibility & from the medical council of India before going overseas. If one satisfies the eligibility criteria given according to MCI then He/she can apply in prescribed format to MCI. Medmission.in will assist all students to get MCI eligibility certificate.
Q.2 After completing mbbs from overseas, can I practice in India?
Ans. Yes, you can practice in India. In order to practice as a medical practitioner, you have to register yourself with the state of the Indian medical council. For this, you have to appear for a screening test. On clearing the screening test you are eligible for registration as a doctor and allowed to practice at par with all other doctors.
Q.3 What is MCI screening test or FMGE? How many times can I give this exam? What happens if I fail to clear screening test?
Ans. After completing your Degree overseas you have to appear for a Screening test conducted by the National Board of Education (NBE), New Delhi. This is conducted twice a year; on last Saturday / Sunday of September and on last Saturday / Sunday of March. After you pass it, you file your papers with the MCI, which will give you a Registration Number and you are now legally registered to practice as a medical professional in India.
There are NO LIMITS on the number of attempts for the Screening test.
A sincere student can pass the Screening Test in the 1st attempt. The Pass mark is 50%. The test is a QUALIFYING test similar to class 12. It is NOT an ELIMINATION test such as IIT, Students should NOT be worried of the screening test if they have studied in class. Study material & coaching is available for screening test if needed.
Q.4 Can I get a job in government hospitals of the allied medical institution in India after completing mbbs from overseas?
Ans. Yes, after clearing the screening test and getting your registration with the state or central council you are eligible for jobs in all government hospitals.
Q.5 Do any Indian professors teach there?
Ans. Yes, a lot of foreign professors teach there. Many of them are from India, USA, and Nepal.
Q.6 What is the duration of the course there? what is the nomenclature of the degree?
Ans. The course takes 5 years and 10 months. This includes practical training in Hospitals (known as an internship in India). The Degree issued is MD or Doctor of Medicine. This is equal to MBBS in India and recognized as equal to the MBBS degree by the Medical Council of India.
Q.7 What is the world health organization (who) and who directory?
Ans. The World Health Organization (WHO) is an international body. Recognizing Medical Institute is by the Government of an individual country and not the WHO. The WHO does publish a Directory of Medical Institutes, which is a list of Medical Colleges given to it the Government of each Country.
Q.8 How many times can I come to my homeland in a year?
Ans. There are 2 vacations winter and summer. The winter vacation is around the last week of January and summer vacations are in July and August and you can easily come to your home during this period. That is also the end of the term. However, travel by air takes totally about 4-6 hours. From anywhere in India with some time during flight changes over.
Q.9 What is the accommodation given by the university?
Ans. Students live in a University hostel. There are rooms with either two or three beds, a common bathroom, and a common kitchen. Each room comes with beds, tables, and cupboards. Hostels are within the University campus or a 5-10 minute ride. There are internet facilities in shops near the hostel, food stores, restaurants, and other facilities are nearby. Admission does not guarantee a hostel room. Ensure you reach at the beginning of the academic year and get a seat in the Hostel, which is allotted on a first come first serve basis. Students have the option of renting a rent a flat in the city. 2 to 6 persons can share a flat.
Q.10 How are the weather and climate?
Ans. The weather and climate are very similar to India. There is a regional variation in a tropical climate.
Q.11 What is the medium of instruction in class English or local language?
Ans. For international students, the medium of instruction is ENGLISH. Students are given FREE classes in the local language for local, so they can interact with patients in Hospitals.
Q.12 Can I get a bank loan and to what extent?
Ans. As per RBI regulation, an Indian student pursuing education abroad can obtain bank loan up to 15 lacs. Since the cost of the entire program is much less, the entire amount can be funded from a bank loan.
Q.13 Can I open a bank account overseas? how to transfer money from India?
Ans. Take US $ in cash from India for fees and other expenses in the first year. This is available from authorized foreign exchange dealers.
Open a Bank account in India with an International ATM Card is also easy. You can withdraw money from ATMs overseas after your parents deposit money in the account in India. This is the best way to transfer money from India. RBI has given permission to transfer $ 100,000 per year without any specific permission needed. You are allowed to carry up to 10,000 $ in Cash as per hand baggage rules. Has it endorsed in your passport?
You can also open a local Bank account overseas with a local ATM card. Your parents can wire transfer the money to your account in the local Bank.
Q.14 Do I have to eat only local food in any country?
Ans. The food there is very similar to ours. Rice is the staple food. All popular vegetables like potato, Brinjal, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Beans, Carrots, Cucumber etc. are available, similarly egg, fish, chicken, mutton are also abundant. Indian style roti is available, loaf, bread, cookies, pastries, ice creams, canned juices are available in plenty in all the college canteens and dining halls.
Q.15 How are living conditions? is it safe? local guardian?
Ans. All countries where students go to are safe. There are good laws, order, and security in place. That is why International Students go there. There is a large contingent of students from India and many other countries. Students have a comfortable and pleasant stay. There are senior students who will assist in times of need. A representative for students from India is there, who you can go to if needed.
Food and mess facilities, local orientation, and assistance: You can join a mess or do self-cooking. The University and the Hostel has a Cafe serving inexpensive local meals.
Q.16 Can my parent visit me? can I travel during my holidays or stay back?
Ans. Parents/friends/relatives of students can visit you. Tourist Invitations can be issued. For holidays students can stay back overseas or come back to India. Usually, students come back after the 1st year. In the 2nd year, some stay back and do local travel, some come to India.
Q.17 Is there any entrance examination prior to joining MBBS overseas? what is the admission process?
Ans. Admission is granted on class 12th marks. Admission on a first come first serve basis

External Board Examination is held. The Standard of education is very high. Class Tests are conducted every day. Q.18 How many foreign students are studying there and how many are from India?
Ans. More than 600 foreign students are studying in university and a lot of 40 students studying MBBS are from India and Nepal.
Q.19 What will be the procedure of admission for MBBS course in China?
Ans. First, you have to register for the university you have chosen. Then you will get the admission confirmation letter and joining letter within 10 days after applying for admission. Then you have to obtain eligibility from MCI. After registration and application process is duly completed your Visa application will be processed by the college.
Q.20 How long does the admission process take?
Ans. ✔✔ The admission process takes 4 weeks if all documents are & complete.
✔✔ Admission is done year-round on rolling admission policy. Admission is granted after filing. Student joins when the academic year commences.
✔✔ Admission Letter by the University is issued in 10 to 15 working days.
✔✔ Visa and travel documentation is complete subject to original papers from the student such as passport & mark sheets etc. The entire process takes about 4 to 8 weeks
✔✔ Students are advised to apply for admission EARLY and to apply for their passports if they do not have one.
Q.21 How do I make my travel arrangements? who will receive me?
Ans. In the first year, Medmission.in will arrange for the travel of students in groups from India. You will be met by a representative in the airport who will assist you with travel to the University and settling in the Hostel / Flat. He will assist in the completion of admission paperwork and payment of fees to the University etc.
Q.22 List of things to carry while going to study MBBS in abroad?
Ans. Once you have decided to study MBBS in abroad ensures that you have all the sufficient documents and sufficient money for fees and other expenses before leaving. Ensure you carry at least the following items with you:
- Passport with valid Visa
- Your travel ticket
- Money in cash or traveler's cheques in a secure pocket
- Letter of admission from the Institute
- Originals of class 12th degree certificates
- Medical documents and any other document as prescribed by the Embassy. Also, refer to the list of things to be carried to be given by Medmission.in
